Goodyear to supply tires for autonomous developer TuSimple
Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company announced a strategic relationship with autonomous trucks developer TuSimple to provide tires and tire management services to TuSimple’s Autonomous Freight Network.
As part of the collaboration, Goodyear will provide products and repair services to TuSimple trucks. Additionally, the two companies will conduct tire wear studies designed to better understand how autonomous trucks and tires can help better predict maintenance, understand tire longevity and reduce the carbon impact of fleets.
Data from the study will also provide insights into the difference between an autonomous and human driver when it comes to tires.
