Domestic freight trends improving into May following a sluggish April. Though trends in recent weeks have been described as “choppy” by some of our private contacts, domestic freight trends have generally firmed into May following sluggish trends in April, a result of 2013’s cold spring that muted retail demand and delayed produce/beverage shipping season. We believe pent-up retail demand and improving spring weather could produce an active June shipping season. |
