Within the vehicle logistics industry which transports millions of cars a year, there is a small, niche sector which is, nevertheless, vital to every OEM. This often unheralded segment deals with the shipment of test cars, prototypes, show vehicles, racing and classic cars often in conditions of absolute secrecy and security.
For some carmakers, especially in Europe, North Africa represents the next great frontier. In 2012, Algeria sold 450,000 new vehicles; Egypt 288,000 units; Morocco 126,000; and Tunisia 54,000. Outside of Egypt, growth this year has been strong, including a 10% sales increase in Algeria.

Mileage-based pay cannot be abandoned, a panel of fleet executives agreed Tuesday, but the system must be adjusted to compensate truck drivers for the time they spend and the work they do when the wheels aren’t turning.
